Our Fees
SFR Solicitors helps victims of crime apply for compensation through the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA). We are authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), and comply with the SRA Transparency Rules on publishing pricing information.
Our Fee Structure
We work on a no win, no fee basis. This means:
- You will not be charged anything upfront.
- You will only pay us if your claim is successful.
- Our fee is typically 25% (inclusive of VAT) of the total compensation awarded by the CICA.
Example:
If your CICA award is £10,000, our fee would be £2,500, and you would receive £7,500.
Disbursements
Disbursements are additional costs paid to third parties to progress your case, for example:
- Medical records (usually between £0–£50)
- GP or consultant reports (if needed, will be discussed in advance)
We will notify you before incurring any disbursements and will not charge anything without your consent.

Timescales
Most CICA claims take between 6 to 18 months, depending on the complexity of the case and how long third-party agencies (e.g. police or doctors) take to respond.
We will keep you updated regularly and work to resolve your claim as quickly as possible.
