About Us

Our Approach

At SFR Solicitors, we support people who have been affected by violent crime and are considering an application to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority. Our aim is to provide clear guidance and a steady, reassuring presence throughout what can feel like a challenging process.

Tailored support

Every application is different. We take the time to understand your circumstances and provide advice that reflects your situation and the requirements of the Criminal Injuries Compensation Scheme. This may involve helping you gather medical evidence, preparing your application or assisting with an appeal if you choose to challenge a decision. We set out each step in plain language so you know what to expect.

A supportive and respectful approach

We recognise that these situations can be difficult to revisit. We offer a calm and non-judgemental environment where your concerns can be discussed openly. Our role is to provide clear, practical information so that you can make decisions with confidence.

No win, No fee arrangements

We offer a No win, No fee agreement with no upfront costs. Our fee is typically 25 % inclusive of VAT, calculated from net compensation awarded by CICA and set out clearly in your client care letter. We explain all terms in advance, including any potential disbursements, and you remain free to choose your own provider for any additional services.

Integrity and transparency

We are committed to open communication and will keep you updated throughout your application. You will have a named point of contact who can answer questions and explain progress. All work is overseen by a solicitor, and we follow the standards required of regulated legal practices.

Our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion

At SFR Solicitors, we are committed to creating an inclusive, respectful and welcoming environment for everyone. We support equality, diversity and inclusion across our team, our clients and our wider community.

We work with people from all backgrounds and are especially mindful of the needs of vulnerable people, including victims of crime, people with disabilities and those facing social or economic disadvantage.

We do not tolerate discrimination or harassment on any unlawful ground, including age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex or sexual orientation. We make reasonable adjustments to ensure equal access to our services. for more information, or to request an adjustment, please contact [email protected]
